Abstract
Research
on behaviour of long-tailed monkeys (Macaca fascicularis) populations was
conducted in Telaga Warna Nature Recreational Park, Bogor West Java. The
research aim to study animal behaviour of long-tailed monkey population by using
focal animal sampling method. This research was conducted in November 2014.
Observation was done by observing long-tailed monkey population until 120
minutes with 5 minutes intervals. Result of this research showed that daily
activities percentage of longtailed monkeys populations were: moving (35%),
grooming (25%), playing (15%), inactive (10%), eating (6.8%). The frequency of
long-tailed macaques activity was dominated by moving behavior, then followed
by eating, resting, social, and eliminating while behavior that rarely conducted
was mating. Based on gender of adult individuals, resting, eating, moving, and
mating were dominated by the adult males, while embracing, cuddling, and
grooming were dominated by adult females.
